Maybe the Sky Only Appears to be Falling or Day 02
Maybe its just a case of needing to roll with the punches.
Yesterday was tough, today… not so bad.
Yesterday, my girl left on a 7 day vacation to Seattle and left me with our 3 kids. I finished the day and most of a bottle of Chianti.
This morning I woke up at 8am. Nope, back to bed.
This morning I woke up at 11am. I looked out the window just in time to catch the plumber who came to fix the garbage disposal that I jacked up last night, right as I was hi-fiving myself on the rock’n job I was doing on the kitchen.
The kids got cereal from the big Costco sized, feed-bag-like bag of fake rice crispsies. I even got some Veggie burgers. Everyone got a bath, my little girls hair got brushed and nobody died. Score 1 for the good guys.
Of course, we haven’t left the house yet.
I set Apsara, my daughter to supervise her 2 year old twin brothers in cleaning their bedroom. Can you say Sisyphus. Right now it sounds like WWIII in there… but I’m in the next room soooo.
Taking care of kids full time is tough. I’m sure my Janie will ultimately read this with some small feeling of vindication but its true. Its tough. Is it starting a new business, attracting clients and using the proceeds to put a roof over your head and food in your kid’s mouths tough? No. but it a’int easy.
Still, the wash is in the washer, the dryers running, the dishes are in the dish washer, everyone except me is dressed and we all still have all of our fingers and toes (knock on wood).
We may just make it.
Grilled Soy Cheese sandwiches all around.
Shit, hysterical crying. Time to go count fingers and toes.
